Welcome visitors!!!

Pack 22

Pack 22 in Mt. Lebanon, Pennsylvania, is sponsored by Southminster Presbyterian Church. Southminster is adjacent to Washington Elementary School and Mellon Middle School in the heart of Uptown. The Cub Scout program is uniquely designed to meet the needs of young boys and their parents. Cub Scouting meets these needs through offering fun and challenging experiences that boys and parents do together.

Who can join Cub Scouts? Cub Scouting is for boys in the first through fifth grades. Boys who are older than 10, or who have completed the fifth grade, can no longer join Cub Scouting, but they may be eligible to join the Boy Scouting or Venturing program.

If you are considering joining Cub Scouts, please contact us through this site and we will be happy to answer your questions and/or schedule a visit to one of our weekly meetings. Young boys grow up fast. Give your son a valuable gift by encouraging him to join Cub Scouting today.

New BSA Rank Requirements for 2016

Posted on Jan 23 2016 - 11:33am

The BSA has announced new rank requirements impacting in various ways advancement to each Scout rank beginning Jan. 1, 2016. A document available from the BSA is attached outlining the new requirements and comparing to the former for each rank. There is a transition period in 2016, meaning essentially for current scouts you will complete any rank you are working on now into 2016 under the old requirements (provided they are completed before 2017), but any new rank advancement thereafter will be under the new reqs. The document explaining the transition rules is also attached. New scouts will follow the new requirements for each rank (and a new handbook will be coming out in 2016, so they may want to wait before purchasing). No more information than what has been attached here has yet been provided to me, but Mr. Morgan will pass along additional info as received, and he is happy to field questions you may have as we go through the transition period.
